Hangman's noose knots from the Atlantic County Sheriff's office in Mays Landing in Mays Landing during time when Daniel E. Iszard was Sheriff. Only three men were hanged in the County. #1 Robert Elder executed January 3, 1889 for murder. #2 James Grimes, a sailor. executed June 20, 1889 for murder. #3 Joseph LaBriol executed September 20, 1907 for murder. Used in first Atlantic County Historical Society display in the new Atlantic County Courthouse in Mays Landing. 03/31/2004 thru 10/13/2004 |
